Teams register one-sided wins on day 1 of JSA Hockey tournament

Jamshedpur, August 20: Team Jamshedpur Friends Club �B� thrashed DBMS School (BH Area) by 9 -0 in the opening match of the JSA Open Hockey Invitational tournament played at Naval Tata Hockey (NTH) Academy Astro Turf Stadium ( ISWP Sports complex) near Telco on Monday.

The goal scorers were Thomas Kadulna at 10th & 27th minute, Sushil Guria (18th & 33rd minute), Suresh Toppo (23 & 40), Anmol Barla (37), Ramkishore Singh (42) and Andreas Aind (46) scored a goal each for JFC ‘B’ team in the Group A encounter..

In the second match of the same group Bharat Munda Samaj ‘A’ beat Jaipal Singh Munda, Birsa Nagar by 5 goals to 0.
Goals were scored by Soni Nayak at 9th minute, Anand Hembram at 10th, Pradip Nag at 17th and Ismael Toppo at 16th & 32nd minute.

The Group B matches began during the second half. In the first match Bharat Munda Samaj ‘B’ defeated DBMS High School (Kadma) in a one-sided encounter by 8 goals to 0.
Johan Kandir scored four goals for Bharat Munda Samaj ‘B’ at 7th,14th, 24th and 45th minutes, Manish Bodra, Michael Munda, Telesphor Herenz and Chandeya Soy also scored a goal each to bag a comfortable win.


In the second match of Group B Naval Tata Hockey Academy beat Jamshedpur Friend Club ‘A’ by 9 goals to 0.
Sukhnath Guria and Simon Bodra scored three goals, Deepak Sorng, Jit Pahan Bhengra and Birsa Mundu scored a goal each.
Earlier, JSA Open Hockey Invitational tournament was inaugurated by Shubhenjit Choudhary, MD Tata Pigments in presence of Manohar Topno, Ex Olympian (Hockey player). On the occasion Ashish Kumar, Head Sports & VP (JSA), G M Sharan, Administrator, NTH, Francis Xavier, Vice Chairman JSA Hockey Sub Committee, Firoz Khan, Hassan Imam, Chandrayee, Sanjay Mishra and members of JSA Hockey Sub Committee were present.

Avinash Kumar, Secretary, JSA welcomed the Guests. Mr. Ashish Kumar, VP (JSA) given brief about the tournament to the guests.

One minute silent was observed in the memory of former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee before the inauguration.
Referees for the matches were Manjit Singh, Anup, Adam, Sosen Nag, Siblan Aind and Sanjay Karketta. Match Observers were B Guria, M Barla, D Kamndulna and JTiru.
Two semi final matches will be played on August 22. In the first match Jamshedpur Friend’s club ‘B’ will take on Bharat Munda Samaj ‘A’ at 10.00 AM and in the second match Naval Tata Academy will face Jamshedpur Friend’s Club ‘A’ at 11.30 AM.
