Jamshedpur/Ranchi, Aug 8: Team Kolhan played a draw against team JSSPS in the first match of the U14 boys’ category in State level Subroto Cup football tournament played at Birsa Munda Stadium, Hotwar, Ranchi on Thursday. In the second match STC Gumla defeated Hazaribagh 4-0 in the U17 boys category. In another U17 boys match STC Gumla played 1-1 draw against Kolhan.
Simdega beat Latehar 3-0 in another U17 boys match. Hazaribagh defeated Gumla 2-0 in U17 boys during the fifth match of the day. Earlier the tournament kicked off with colourful opening ceremony.
Chief Guest for the occasion was Kanke MLA Jitu Charan Ram, guest of honour was Anil Singh, director, Sports department, Jharkhand, Sandeep Doraiburu, former deputy director, Sports department, organising committee secretary Uma Jaiswal,�� Olympian Manohar Topno and Somrai Tete jointly inaugurated the tournament. Total of 21 teams including 421 players are participating in the tournament.
