Jamshedpur, April 30: VP (Shared Services) team was crowned the winner of the 1st Tata Cup Volleyball Tournament organised by Tata Steel sports department for Sr. Executives of TSL Group at Volleyball Court, JRD Tata Sports Complex on Saturday. VP (Engg. & Projects) team was declared the winner. In the final match VP (SS) team beat VP (Engg & P) X team by 15 -5 and 15 – 8 points.
The Best Player award went to Herendra Verma of VP (SS) team.
140 Sr. Executives from fourteen teams of TSL groups participated in the tournament including CEO & MD, Tata Steel X, VP (SM) X, VP (SS) X, VP (RM) X, VP (Engg & Projects) X, VP (TSK) X, VP (HRM) X, VP (IM) X, MD (JUSCO) X, MD (ISWPL) X, MD Tata Pigments X, VP (SH & S) X. MD TINPLATE X, MD JCAPCPL X.
Ashish Mathur, MD JUSCO, Tarun Daga, MD Tinplaye, Sudhanshu Pathak, VP (SM), Uttam Singh, VP (IM), R R Jha, VP (E & P), Sanjiv Paul, VP (Safety), Avneesh Gupta, VP (SS), Sr. GM’s, GM’s, Dy. GM’s, Chiefs and Heads of TSL groups had participated in this high profile event.
Sanjiv Paul, VP (SH & S), Tata Steel, distributed the prizes to winners. Sunil Kr Rai, R K Mishra, R K Gupta, Balwinder, Hareram, J A Murthy, Amrick Singh and Dhanranjan were the qualified referees officiated the matches. Avinash Kumar and V. Ramana presented the match commentary to the audience.
Entire tournament was conducted under the guidance of Ashish Kumar, Head Sports. All employees and Staffs of Sports were present on the occasion and supported in making it successful.
