Team Republicans Challenge convert filthy area into park

Jamshedpur, March 14: Since the day Jamshedpur was ranked t the bottom list among the most clean Indian cities in a survey carried out by the Union urban development ministry, Team Republicans Challenge has involved itself in making the citizens of the steel city aware of the importance keeping the city clean just like they keep their homes.

On Sunday, the team members launched a cleanliness drive behind JK Residency Hotel at Gurudwara Basti in Sakchi and converted the area packed with filth into a mini park.

The area next to a ground was used by the local residents to throw trash making the entire environment polluted and foul smelling. At first, the members cleaned the area and then painted the walls depicting messages urging people to keep the area clean and always throw the trash in garbage bins.

The team members also planted trees in the area and barricaded it with unused bricks, lying unused in the area and converted it into a mini park.

A team member informed that the local residents provided full support in making the area clean. The members also visited several houses in the locality making the households aware of clean the surroundings. The team plans to take more initiative to make the city clean and green and make it the cleanest city of the country.

Vishwajeet Prasad, Afroz, Ashwini, Abhishek, Kanhaiya, Gufran, Anand, Chanakya, Rahul, Ravi, Manish and others were present on the occasion.
