Jamshedpur, Sept. 18: Team JUSCO �B� defeated TS Bhusan Angul �B� by 2 sets to 1, Engg. & Projects �A� got walk over against IM ‘B’, TS Kalinganagar �A� beat ISWPL by 2 sets to 0 on the opening day of the Inter Divisional Badminton Championship organised by sports department of Tata Steel at Badminton Centre, JRD Tata Sports Complex on Wednesday.
The four-day championship began on September 18 and will continue till September 21.
Other match results were- SS �A� beat TS Kalinganagar ‘B’ by 2 sets to 0, General Offices ‘A” beat HRM ‘A’ by 2 sets to 0, Flat Products ‘B’ beat Long Products ‘A’ by 2 sets to 0, OMQ �A� beat SS �B� by 2 sets to 0, General Offices �B� beat HRM �B� beat by 2 sets to 0, TS Long Products (Usha Martin) beat JUSCO ‘A’ by 2 sets to 0, Engg. & Projects ‘B’ beat West Bokaro by 2 sets to 1, Iron Makings ‘A’ beat Profit Center ‘A’ by 2 sets to 0, OMQ ‘A’ beat Flat Products ‘B’ by 2 sets to 0, TS Bhusan ‘A’ beat Profit Center ‘B’ by 2 sets to 0, FAMD beat TS Long Products ‘B’ by 2 sets to 0 and LP �B� got walk over against Pigments �A�.
Out of 22 units 31 teams from 17 units are participating. For the first time Tata Steel Long Products (Usha Martin) team is playing. Last year winner was Engg & Projects ‘A’ and Runner up was General Offices ‘ A’ team.
Matches of the above championship are being officiated by Referees, S K Srivastava, PGS Murthy, Ashok Gupta, L R Murmu, Ranjan Singh and Alok Nobel. Final will be played on 21st September 2019 at 3.00 PM.
