Jamshedpur, June 29: Jamshedpur defeated Ghatshila by 2-0 to become Champions of the 1st NTHA Grassroot Festival.
The event was graced by the presence of Hassan Mujtaba, Programme Manager NTHA and Ajay Yadav, Treasurer Hockey East Singhbhum, who witnessed the intense competition and inspiring performances from the stands. Dr. Rajendra Bharti, Registrar, Kolhan University, Chaibasa, Dr. Hassan Imam, Manager Sports Tata Steel and Gurmeet Singh Rao, Project Director NTHA were also present.
The grand finale saw Jamshedpur and Ghatshila face off in a high-stakes battle. Both teams exhibited exceptional skill and determination. Jamshedpur, known for their tactical gameplay and robust defence, met Hata’s dynamic and aggressive offense head-on. Nauri Mundri from Ghatshila became the player of the Match while Mayuri clinched the Emerging Player of the Tournament with Player Divya Mundri being the Best Player of the Tournament.
Earlier in the day, teams from Hata and Parsudih clashed in a thrilling encounter for the 2nd Runners-up position in which Parsudih emerged victorious. Player Kuni Deogam from team Parsudih became the Player of the Match.
