Jamshedpur, Feb. 1: Team India speedster Varun Raymond Aaron, popularly known as Varun Aaron, married his childhood friend Ragini at the Jamshedpur Court on Monday. Few family members of the couple and close friends were present on the occasion.
Varun and Ragini were at the court premises for about 40 minutes and completed all formalities and paper work related to his wedding. Varun silently arrived in the court with Ragini and close friends and both the families left the court after the marriage. Significantly, both Varun and Ragini are former students of Loyola School. Ragini lives in the Kadma area of the steel city.
According to sources, Varun will tie the knot with Ragini according to Christian rituals at a Church in Bistupur in the city on Thursday.
It may be noted that Varun Aaron currently plays for Delhi in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and has earlier turned out for Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Varun was born on October 29, 1989 in Singhbhum district of Jharkhand state.
This wedding function has made the Jharkhand Express stay away from the Ranji Trophy quarter-final match between Jharkhand and Mumbai, which is scheduled to be played from February 3-7 in Bengaluru. Chances are that the Karnataka State Cricket Association may move the fixture to Mysuru.
Varun Aaron, a right-arm fast bowler, first played for Jharkhand U-19 and soon found a berth in the Jharkhand Ranji team. He played his first One Day International (ODI) for India in October 2011 and made his Test debut in the following month. Possessing a smooth run-up and a repeatable action, Aaron consistently bowls in excess of 145 km/h (90 mph) from close to the stumps with decent control.
Aaron has been part of the MRF Pace Foundation in Chennai since he was spotted by a talent scout at the age of 15.
