Teachers Day celebrated with fervour in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: Enthusiasm and festivity marked the Teacher’s Day celebrations in the city. Campuses were gripped with fervour as students put their best foot forward to pay tributes to the great visionary Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan. From colleges to schools, every campus was abuzz with activities.

Students organised series of events at Graduate School College for Women, Jamshedpur Worker’s College, Karim City College in respect of their teachers, while schools like DBMS English School, Sacred Heart Convent and others felicitated their teachers and present cultural programmes.

The rich cultural heritage of our country was depicted through a dance drama titled Dances of India, which included dance forms such as Bharatnatyam, Thiruvathalli of Kerala, folk dances of Maharashtra and Rajasthan as well as Bhangra of Punjab.

The school management also felicitated the senior teacher�s for their contribution in the field of education. �The celebration is to bring oneness among teachers and encourage them to perform well for the betterment of society. A teacher is one who shapes the destiny of the student,� said Nandani Singh.


She lauded the contribution of teachers in the over-all development of country. Highlighting on the achievements of Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan he said that he was a true role model and India�s most influential scholars. Teachers should follow his path and be a guiding light to children, he added.

She also said that the day was very special for all the teachers and students who will be honoured for their achievements. �Teacher’s Day is the best occasion to extend our sincere gratitude to all the teachers, for not only teaching our students but being their true mentors and role models.

There is no doubt about the fact that it takes an incredible amount of dedication, knowledge and patience to teach a class, full of present day students, who are sharp, inquisitive and real go getters and that type of responsibility and commitment, makes these teachers real heroes on a daily basis,� said a student of Loyola School.
