Jamshedpur, Jan 7: A teacher identified as Surender Kumar accused of molesting a eight-year-old minor girl at Harijan Basti under Burmamines thana was on Thursday arrested by police and sent to Ghaghidih jail.
The accused teacher underwent a medical test prior to being sent for jail at the MGM Hospital in Sakchi. However, the crowd started assaulting the teacher in protest against the molestation of the child. The police had to rescue the teacher from the irate mob with much difficulty.
Incidentally, the child used to go for tuition to the teacher staying at Bhaktinagar where the teacher tried to molest her. The child returned home crying and narrated the incident before her parents who later caught hold of the teacher and handed him to the local police.
