Gamharia: A motorcycle procession was taken out on Tuesday by members of Tayo Sangharsh Samiti against the union and the management.
Many employees of the company participated in the procession. The outfit members raised slogans to protest the offer of voluntary retirement scheme by the company after its Board decided to close its operations.
They also condemned the union leaders including Rakeshwar Pandey for allegedly not taking interest in the affairs of the workers.
The procession members said the workers should not be misled by union leaders who do nothing for them. The workers said the package for VRS being offered by the company was not acceptable to them.
They said the company should restart production and make arrangements for the livelihood of its workers. They also demanded recall of the closure notice by the company management.
