Jamshedpur, Nov. 29: The South Eastern Railway (SER) has decided to resume services of the Tatanagar-Visakhapatnam Express from December 2. The train which was introduced as a Puja special stopped running from November 11.
A spokesperson of South Eastern Railway said that the train will now run as a winter special for two months — December and January. ” We have decided to resume the services so that the rush during winter can be controlled. Depending on the response the train might be extended further,” said the spokesperson.
According to a schedule released by SER today, the Up train ( 08189) from Tatanagar will leave every Friday starting from December 2.
The train will leave the originating station on Fridays at 1 pm and it will reach Visakhapatnam at 5.25 am the next day. The return train ( 08190 ) will leave Visakhapatnam at 5.45 pm on every Saturday. The train will reach Tatanagar at 10.45 am the next day.
The train with stoppages at Raj Kharsawan, Chaibasa , Dangoaposi, Banspani and Bhubaneshwar will run till January 28, as per the official circular which reached here at the office of the station manager today.
Located on the Howrah-Mumbai main route Tatanagar is an important station. Several important trains travel via Tatanagar, including the high-profile Rajdhani Express and Duronto Express.
The station sees a daily traffic of 90 mail, express and passenger trains, besides a footfall of more than 60,000 passengers.
