Tatanagar: Steel Express, Jan Shatabdi among several trains cancelled, Duranto Express, Gitanjali Express diverted due to protests

Jamshedpur, July 4: Normal life in rural areas of Jharkhand and train services in parts of the state were affected on Tuesday, July 4, due to Jharkhand bandh called by a tribal outfit in demand for making Santali the main official language in the state and publication of school and college textbooks in Olchiki script.

Members of the ‘Olchiki Hul Vaisi’ (OHV), a wing of the Majhi Paragana Mahal, blocked the railway lines at Chirugoda station in Kharagpur division and Badampahar and Govindpur Road station in Chakradharpur division of South Eastern Railway.

Train services were hit in view of 12 hours Jharkhand Bandh on Tuesday. Members of Olchiki Hul Vais Adivasi Samaj protested at Chirugoda station of Kharagpur-Tatanagar section of South Eastern Railway.
