Tatanagar to get two new daily MEMU trains to Chaibasa, Chakulia

Jamshedpur, June 4: To enhance passenger convenience, South Eastern Railway (SER) has announced the introduction of two new MEMU (Mainline Electric Multiple Unit) passenger train services starting June 6, 2025.

The first service, 68137/68138 Tatanagar–Chaibasa–Tatanagar MEMU, will operate daily. Train number 68137 will depart from Tatanagar at 20:55 hrs and arrive at Chaibasa by 23:00 hrs. In the return direction, train 68138 will leave Chaibasa at 03:20 hrs and reach Tatanagar at 05:45 hrs. The train will halt at Adityapur, Gamharia, Birbans, Sini, Mahalimarup, Rajkharswan and Pandrasali.

The second service, 68128/68127 Tatanagar–Chakulia–Tatanagar MEMU, will also run daily. Train 68128 will depart from Tatanagar at 11:00 hrs and arrive in Chakulia at 12:45 hrs. The return train 68127 will leave Chakulia at 15:00 hrs and reach Tatanagar by 17:00 hrs. Stops along the route include Salgajhari, Govindpur, Asanboni, Rakha Mines, Galudih, Ghatshila, Chirugoda, Dalbhumgarh and Kokpara.

The new services aim to boost regional connectivity and ease commuter travel in the Tatanagar–Chaibasa and Tatanagar–Chakulia corridors.
