Jamshedpur: The security arrangement in and around Tatanagar railway station will soon be beefed up on the lines of security set-up around airports. Vehicle scanners will be installed at the entry and exit points of the railway station.

This would enable the railway authorities to keep an eye on objectionable and dangerous articles being taken to the railway station. The ticket counters at Burmamines will be linked to CCTV and gate-frame metal detectors will also be installed. Parcel and luggage scanners will be installed at the entry and exit points as well as at the parcel booking office.

Sources said the railway security personnel will meticulously examine every parcel and bundle being taken down from the parcel bogies. The IG of RPF BB Mishra has inspected Tatanagar railway station twice so far.
Sources said the total number of CCTV cameras will be increased to 64. An anti-bomb squad will also be deputed at the station, sources said.
