The senior railway official inspects junction, discusses renovation plans
Jamshedpur, September 22: Chakradharpur divisional railway manager (DRM) along with the officials of the consultant company took stock of the railway land available on both sides of the station.
Tatanagar station will soon be developed as the city center of the steel city .
Regarding this, DRM Arun J Rathore of Chakradharpur railway division inspected Tatanagar station on Friday along with his team. He took stock of the station and surrounding areas.
First of all he took stock of the passenger facilities present in the station and then reached Kendriya Vidyalaya. After this he went to Burmamines where he also inspected the second entry gate.
DRM said that Tatanagar station is to be renovated which will cost Rs 400-500 crore. For this, a consultant has been hired who will prepare a DPR after inspection. This DPR will be sent to the Railway Board after which the construction work will start.
He informed that the main entry gate of the station will be extended to the front of the main road. The main road will pass through Kendriya Vidyalaya. The station will also be extended towards Burmamines entry gate.
The station is to be extended till the petrol pump towards Burmamines. There is a plan to expand the station to Gudri Bazar and Loco Shed also.
He told that this work has to be prepared in two phases. In the first phase, work will be done towards Burmamines second entry gate and work will be done at those places where there is no need to demolish the building. In phase two, work will be done by demolishing the building. DPR for this will be prepared in three months. It will take about three years to build it.
Many facilities will be provided to the people in the station. It will have facilities like shopping mall, cinema hall, subway, escalator and lift facility on every platform, cafeteria, retiring room with 3 star facility, modern toilet, face detection camera. Tatanagar station will be made as a satellite station.
