Tatanagar: Schedule change hint for Ranchi-Howrah Vande Bharat Express

Jamshedpur, October 10: The timetable of Ranchi-Howrah Vande Bharat train will be changed. For this, South-Eastern Railway Headquarters, Garden Reach is brainstorming.

Railway officials said that due to the timetable, the number of passengers in the Ranchi-Howrah Vande Bharat train, which started from September 24, is less. The train leaves Ranchi at 5.15 am and reaches Howrah at 12.20 pm. The train leaves from Howrah at 3.45 pm and reaches Ranchi at 10.50 pm.

According to the information, Railway Headquarters is considering changing the train timetable from Ranchi to Howrah two hours later at 7.15 instead of 5.15.

During winter season, passengers of Ranchi-Howrah train will face a lot of trouble. In view of this, consideration is being given to changing the train timetable soon. It is known that on October 11, 310 seats in chair car and executive class are vacant in the train, on October 12, 292 seats, on October 13, 314 seats, on October 14, 333 seats and on October 15, 274 seats are vacant.

State secretary of Jharkhand Passengers Association, Prem Kataruka has demanded from the General Manager of South-Eastern Railway to reopen the retiring room and dormitory located at Ranchi Railway Station.

He said that there were arrangements for the rest of the passengers in Ranchi Railway Station premises including 22 double bed retiring rooms and 16 berth dormitory for a total of 60 passengers.

He said that six months ago the Railway Board handed over the retiring room and dormitory to IRCTC. But IRCTC is not providing the facility of retiring rooms and dormitory to the passengers. Due to this the passengers are facing problems. He has given a copy of the letter to DRM Jasmeet Singh Bindra.

  1. The problem is the Route. Run it via. Bokaro and Dhanbad and the Grand Chord. You’ll see the demand rise significantly. The only major demand in the current route will be Tatanagar. 12020 Ranchi Howrah Shatabdi never goes vacant. Railways should have thought about it. And also Shatabdi takes almost the same time as the Vande Bharat. The only challenge to this route is between Chandrapura and Dhanbad where avg. Speed is just 20kmph. Otherwise, it Reaches Bokaro 20 minutes before time everyday. It Enters Howrah 15 minutes before time despite minor delays. Ply it via Gomoh since it is a Vande Bharat which does not need an engine change. Ranchi to Howrah via. Bokaro, Gomoh, Dhanbad would not take more than 6 hrs.

  2. Dhanbad is always left behind when ever it comes for providing new trains and connection although it’s the highest revenue generator from this region.

    The double decker was revoked. No point to point train provided from dhanbad to delhi /Bangalore/Mumbai etc.

    Earlier we heard this train will be plying thru Bokaro dhanbad route and suddenly route is changed & it’s started thru tatanagar.

    If chandrapura dhanbad section is bottleneck, what railway has done to develop the alternate.

    Some years back all the train were diverted citing safety issues and alternative route was proposed to be developed but till date nothing happened.

    The highest revenue generator suffers the highest.

    No new train provided since so many years from dhanbad. No vande bharat given, double decker also shelved. Everyone is not rich to afford Rajdhani Express from Delhi to go to dhanbad.

    Feels like pity to see the status of the A1 station of Jharkhand.

    All officials and ministers are keeping mum.

Bande Bharat project vis a vis Satabdi, Satabdi performance is more efficient.Early morning timing is not suitable for ordinary citizens to avail bande Bharat.Further ,I find even at present there is more scope to improve performance of railway operations and limiting journey time with out any fund allocation.

  4. The route should be provided with janashatabdi/janaVB with few more stoppages. Present train should be rerouted through industrial cities with very few stoppages with the advantage of considerable time saving than present connectivity.

  5. There are no trains available to Howrah from Dhanbad after the early morning till the evening. The timings of the train could be set so that it crosses Dhanbad at noon time, so it would be more suitable and not compete with Shatabdi in terms of timings

  6. Time to change the present Member of Parliament of Dhanbad . Dhanbad is the biggest railway station of jharkhand but the present government always ignores Dhanbad . I hope railway introduce some sleeper vande bharat from Dhanbad to New Delhi and Bengaluru

There is only one train between howrah to tata in morning jansatabdi barbil runs in time and in evening while returning jansatabdi always arring late by 2/3 hrs passengers find very difficult due to non availability cab at howrah in route.maximus passengers r boarding at tatanagar in this train.why note railway think to change time of vande bharat to leave howrah in morning and to leave ranchi in evening.
