Jamshedpur: The Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) expressed concern over the continued delays and cancellations of trains while drawing the attention of the Rail Minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw.
SCCI President, Vijay Anand Moonka and General Secretary, Manav Kedia, sharing this information,
pointed out that for the past few months, there had been a persistent trend of trains running late and causing unusual delays in reaching their destinations. “This has caused considerable inconvenience to passengers trying to reach their destinations on time for various reasons. Examples like students traveling for examinations, officials and entrepreneurs going for conducting meetings and interviews and sick passengers being taken for timely medical attention abound. Unfortunately, due to the late running or sudden cancellation of trains, host of inconveniences are being created and people are disgruntled and frustrated,” they stated. The SCCI, especially taking note of the common passengers including children, women and elderly persons who were made to wait for hours at stations, has urged the Rail Minister to take immediate action in investigating the causes behind these inconveniences and have requested him to issue orders for swift rectification of train schedules on priority basis.
