Jamshedpur, Sep 25: Indian Railways is set to upgrade Tatanagar Railway Station, making it a world-class facility under South Eastern Railway. As part of this transformation, the number of platforms at the station will be increased, along with a significant expansion of passenger amenities. The redevelopment will include the construction of a six-storey building, standing at 150 meters high, which will cater to both passenger and commercial needs. The station will cover a total area of 78.71 acres, incorporating surrounding areas into its premises.
Development work is slated to begin in October 2024, with completion expected by March 2025. The station, which is a crucial part of the Chakradharpur Division, currently serves many important trains, including Vande Bharat Express. South Eastern Railway GM Anil Kumar Mishra, in a recent meeting with officials, outlined the steps needed for the project, including road closures and other infrastructural changes. This ambitious project aims to significantly elevate the station’s status and enhance the travel experience for passengers.
