Tatanagar parking sub-contractor arrested for assaulting three persons

Jamshedpur, Jan. 20: Police on Sunday arrested two persons, including parking sub-contractor for assaulting three persons outside Tatanagar station last night. Those arrested were including parking sub-contractor Kamlesh Singh and parking staff Chhotu Prasad.

Kamlesh and Chhotu along with three others had assaulted two persons who were seated inside the car while waiting for somebody on Station-Parsudih road outside the railway parking.

Sujit Kumar (46) who is a resident of Kamdhenu Apartment in Kadma and his nephew Bharat Kumar (22) had come near the Tatanagar station and were waiting for someone sitting in their car along the road.

According to Sujit a parking staff came and asked them to park the vehicle inside the railway parking area when they refused, the parking staff returned with three-four persons and asked them to get out of the car.

“We were assaulted and were shocked to see their behaviour. One of the parking staff took away the car key and forced me and my nephew Bharat Kumar and started assaulting us severely. As the parking staff were busy assaulting us, the car driver Sanjay Ghosh informed some of the RPF staff who were around. The RPF personnel subsequently came to the rescue of the victims,” said Sujit.

Sujit said his nephew, Bharat who is a trainee in the Navy had come to Jamshedpur on Saturday on leave and wanted to meet some of his friends who stays at Parsudih.

“We were waiting outside the Tatanagar station as we wanted to enter into Parsudih locality. But in the meantime the parking staff started forced us to get the vehicle parked inside the parking area and assaulted us,” said the victim.

Both Sujit and his nephew sustained injuries in their face that had bled profusely. OC, government railway police, Tatanagar, Raju who had also come to the spot by that time rushed both the injured to the Railway Hospital in Khasmahal.

When the news spread, a joint team of RPF and GRP started a search operation and caught two of the accused, including the parking sub-contractor, Kamlesh Singh.

The railway police today forwarded both Kamlesh (45) and Chhotu (28) to Chakradharpur before a railway magistrate for taking them into judicial custody.
