Jamshedpur: The Neelanchal Express will now make a scheduled halt at Jhargram station, as per the recent directives issued by the South Eastern Railway. Starting from January 5, Friday, both up and down journeys of the Neelanchal Express will include a stopover at Jhargram station. The decision to accommodate the demand from the local residents has been met positively, leading to satisfaction among the people. Additionally, preparations are underway to consider similar halts for several other trains, including the Purushottam Express in Barabhum and the Swarnarekha Express in Santaldih under the East Coast Railway. Similar arrangements are being planned for various stations along the Howrah-Mumbai route, such as Chakradharpur and Purulia. The provision of a halt for the Neelanchal Express at Jhargram station follows years of local advocacy for this decision. The community expresses joy and contentment with the implementation of this long-awaited change.
