Tatanagar: Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Rajdhani Express with Tejas coaches to run from today  

Jamshedpur, Aug 29: All the rakes of Bhubaneswar-New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express— Via Adra and via Tata will run with Tejas Coaches from August 30.

The Rajdhani Express with Tejas Coaches a semi-high-speed train provides upgraded amenities for the new era of train travel experience with enhanced comfort.

The 22811/22812 Bhubaneswar-New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express leaving from Bhubaneswar on Wednesdays and Sundays and leaving from New Delhi on Mondays and Fridays will have Tejas Coaches w.e.f.August 30 2023 from Bhubaneswar and w.e.f. September 1 from New Delhi.

Similarly, 22823/22824 Bhubaneswar-New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express leaving from Bhubaneswar on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays and leaving from New Delhi on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sundays will have Tejas Coaches w.e.f August 31from both the directions.

Indian Railways started to upgrade Rajdhani coaches to Tejas coaches. This replaced its traditional LHB Rajdhani coaches. By using Tejas smart coach, Indian Railways aims to move to predictive maintenance instead of preventive maintenance. This also increases its maximum speed to 130 km/h (81 mph) and maximum potential speed to 160 km/h

Now all the Rajdhani Express Trains from Bhubaneswar will run as Bhubaneswar-New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Tejas Rajdhani Express. The Tejas Coaches have Electro-pneumatic assisted brakes, Automatic entrance plug type door, Re-designed e-leather upholstery in seats, Improved lavatory-vacuum assisted flushing with bio-toilets, Passenger information system and digital destination board, Fire and smoke detection system. The coaches have also Provision of CCTV Cameras, Improved aesthetics with new interior and exterior colour scheme presenting a futuristic look, Integrated Braille displays and many other passenger amenities that will provide a comfortable journey to the passengers.
