Jamshedpur: In response to concerns raised by the Sikh community, South Eastern Railway SER has announced the restoration of two key train services that were earlier cancelled due to foggy conditions. The decision aims to address the inconvenience caused to passengers, particularly those from the Sikh community, and ensure seamless connectivity.
The following trains are set to resume operations as per the given schedule: Tatanagar-Amritsar Jallianwala Bagh Express (Train No. 18103): Date of Restoration: 18.12.2023, Amritsar-Tatanagar Express (Train No. 18104): Date of Restoration: 20.12.2023
The decision to restore these trains comes after protests and concerns voiced by the Sikh community, emphasizing the importance of these services for their connectivity needs. The cancellation of these trains had caused inconvenience to passengers, and the reinstatement is seen as a positive step towards addressing community concerns.
A Railway official: “We understand the significance of these train services for the Sikh community and passengers in general. The decision to restore these trains is a result of careful consideration and our commitment to providing efficient and reliable transportation services.”
BJP leader Satbir Singh Somu said: “We appreciate the responsiveness of Indian Railways to our concerns. These train services are vital for our community members, especially during this festive season. The restoration will bring relief and ensure that our travel plans are not disrupted.”
A passenger said: “I am relieved to hear about the restoration of the Tatanagar-Amritsar Express. This train is a lifeline for many of us, and its cancellation had created challenges in our travel plans. I am grateful for the prompt action taken by the authorities.”
Meanwhile, passengers have been advised to check the revised schedule for these trains, with the Tatanagar-Amritsar Express set to resume operations from 18.12.2023 and the Amritsar-Tatanagar Express from 20.12.2023. The restoration is expected to facilitate smooth travel for the community and other passengers who rely on these services for their transportation needs.
