Jamshedpur, June 26: Starting Saturday, June 29, a 25,000-volt current will be activated on the newly laid third rail line from Salgajhuri East Cabin to Adityapur Yard via Tatanagar. Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has completed the construction of the third line and installed traction pillars. Residents along the new line are being alerted to avoid accessing the area.
A trial run for goods trains on the third line between Tatanagar and Adityapur is expected soon. South East Zone Railway General Manager AK Mishra inspected the new line on June 15. The trial date will be set after the Chief Safety Commissioner’s inspection. Meanwhile, RVNL is finalizing all necessary work.
In the Chakradharpur division, the construction of the third line is currently focused solely between Tatanagar and Adityapur. Once operational, this new line will significantly improve passenger train movement.
