Jamshedpur, Oct 6: As part of the ongoing Wildlife Week Celebrations 2025, Tata Steel Zoological Park, in association with the Jamshedpur Forest Division, organised ‘On-the-Spot Essay Writing Competition’ on October 6, 2025.
The topic for the competition was aligned with this year’s theme — “Importance of Community Participation in Wildlife Conservation”
A total of 42 students from 13 different schools, studying in Classes VIII to XII, enthusiastically participated in the event. The essays will be evaluated by an expert jury, and the results will be announced on October 10, 2025. The prize distribution ceremony will be held during the closing ceremony of the weeklong celebration on October 12, 2025, at the main lawn of Tata Steel Zoological Park.
Tomorrow’s event will feature a Debate Competition for students of Classes VIII to XII on the topic “Eco-tourism does help in wildlife conservation”
Earlier, on the second day (October 5, 2025), Tata Steel Zoological Park and the Jamshedpur Forest Division, Government of Jharkhand, jointly organized a Marathon – Run for Gajraj in the vicinity of the Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary. The event was jointly flagged off by Sabita Mahato, MLA, Ichagarh Constituency, and Nitish Kumar Singh (IAS), Deputy Commissioner, Seraikela-Kharsawan. The marathon witnessed an overwhelming response with over 4,000 participants taking part in the run, spreading the message of elephant conservation and coexistence.
