Tata Zoo invites Jamshedpur citizens to name newly arrived tigers

Jamshedpur, March 20: Tata Steel Zoological Park has launched a community initiative inviting citizens to name two newly arrived tigers—one male and one female—that reached the zoo on March 13, 2025. Currently under a 30-day quarantine period, the tigers will be officially named on April 1, 2025.

In an official press communiqué, the zoo authorities stated, “We invite the citizens of Jamshedpur to participate in this unique opportunity. Entries can be sent via SMS or WhatsApp to 8709572018, mentioning the sender’s name and place of stay, by March 26, 2025.”

A selection process will determine the most meaningful names, and the winners will receive four complimentary visitor passes to the zoo.

“This is a chance for residents to be part of a memorable occasion at Tata Steel Zoo,” the statement added. (W-mb)
