Jamshedpur, Feb 2: Today marks a crucial day for Tata Steel as the elections for the Tata Workers Union, the officially recognized union of the company, are in full swing. The voting is set to take place on the company premises, with the counting of votes scheduled for the evening of the same day to determine the committee members.

A total of 214 committee members will collaboratively elect 11 officials. The positions up for grabs include President, General Secretary, Deputy President, Treasurer, four Vice Presidents, and three Assistant Secretaries.

Team Tunnu is actively working to stage a comeback in this election, having provided another opportunity to its incumbent officials. As of now, Sanjeev Chaudhary Tunnu is the sole contender for the position of President, while Satish Singh from Team Tunnu is anticipated to secure the post of General Secretary. The race for Deputy President features Shailesh Singh, and Harishankar Singh is vying for re-election as Treasurer.

The vice presidential candidates from Team Tunnu are Shahnawaz Sanjay Singh and Sanjeev Tiwari. Following the retirement of Vice President Shatrughan Rai, his position has been left vacant. Team Tunnu has put forward Nitish Raj, Saroj Singh, and Ajay Chaudhary as their candidates for the position of Assistant Secretary.
