Election for 11 office bearers on Feb 22

Jamshedpur: Tata Workers Union (TWU) election dates have been announced. The voting for the committee members of the union will be held on February 21, 2018 and counting of votes will be done on February 22 after which the results will be announced. After the counting, the newly elected committee members will hold a meeting and elect the new office bearers of the union.

The TWU election dates were announced on Monday evening after which the President of the Union, R Ravi Prasad and team along with those from the opposition started the preparations. Election officer SK Singh and election committee meeting was held on Monday after the election dates were confirmed.

The voting will start at 7 am on February 21 and will continue till 3 pm at booths set up at different departments inside the Tata Steel company.

After the voting gets over, the ballot box will kept in the strong room in the company premises.

The counting of votes will start at Steelenium Hall inside the Tata Steel works on February 22 morning. After the counting of votes is done, first meeting of the newly elected committee members will be held at the Steelenium Hall where Co-Option procedures will be followed. After the Co-option, voting will be held to elect 11 office bearers. Counting will be held soon after the voting is done and newly appointed office bearers names will be announced. Later, on February 26, the elected office-bearers and committee members will be handed over the certificates during a programme at the Tata Workers Union. The election procedure will conclude on March 1 at 6 pm.
