Jamshedpur: Preparations for the Tata Workers Union elections, the authorized union of Tata Steel, are underway, with a confirmation meeting of the committee scheduled for January 13. Following this meeting, the election officer and six election committee members are expected to be selected by January 18, according to sources. Subsequently, the implementation of the code of conduct for the elections will commence.
Once the election officials and committee members are in place, decisions will be made regarding the election process, and the specific dates for the elections will be announced. It is mandated that the elections must be conducted within two weeks of February, as not more than three years should elapse between union elections.
In a notable development, members of the Engineering Services committee have announced their support for President Sanjeev Chaudhary, Deputy President Shailesh Singh, General Secretary Satish Singh, and the entire Team Tunnu in the upcoming Tata Workers Union elections. Those endorsing the team include JDC Chairman Mahendra Singh, Vijay Singh, and Bijendra Kumar Shah, who have commended Team Tunnu’s effective advocacy for workers’ interests, expressing confidence in their victory.
