Tata Steel’s Piped Drinking Water Project inaugurated at West Bokaro

Bokaro : Tata Steel’s West Bokaro Division has set up two ‘Piped Drinking Water Projects’ at Duni and Parsa Bara village under Mandu Block of Ramgarh district with an objective to provide drinking water to the people.

These projects were dedicated to the villagers today by Sanjay Kumar Singh, General Manager, West Bokaro Division, Tata Steel in the presence of Mohan Mahato, President, Rastriya Colliery Mazdoor Sangh (RSMS); Nirankush Mishra, Secretary, RCMS and Mr Narendra Kumar Gupta, Chief, Quarry SEB, West Bokaro Division, Tata Steel.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Singh said: “Tata Steel is always committed to the sustainable development of the society. Providing safe drinking water to villages for a healthy life has always been the thrust area for Tata Steel.

I am sure that this project will ensure sustainable supply of adequate and good quality water in these villages”.
These projects are extensions of ‘Bokaro River Drinking Water Project’, inaugurated by Jayant Sinha, Minister of State, Civil Aviation on June 3, 2016.

To make safe and piped drinking water available to the populace, the steel major under ‘Drinking Water Project’ at Duni village has installed 2350 meters pipeline across the village with 148 tap points that will supply 1 lakh litre water daily to around 850 persons in the village.

At Parsa Bara village, the project encompasses 1800 meters pipeline across the village with 6 overhead water tanks with 4 tap points each that will supply 22, 000 litres water daily to around 600 persons in the village.

Also present on the occasion were Nirmal Karmali, Mukhiya, Kedala; Seema Devi, Mukhia, Barughutu West; Amitabh Jha, Head, Human Resource Management, Tata Steel and Manoj Singh, Head, Security, Tata Steel; Keshav Kumar Ranjan, Unit Head, Tata Steel Rural Development Society (TSRDS) along with other senior officials of Tata Steel and TSRDS.
