Jamshedpur, Jan 17: Pawan Agrawal, a senior BJP leader and former Chief Minister Raghubar Das’ legislative representative, has requested changes in the timing of water supply in the Jamshedpur lease areas. In a letter addressed to Senior GM, Tata Steel UISL, Capt Dhananjay Mishra, Agrawal highlighted the current water supply schedule in areas like Bhalubasa, Bhuinadih, Sitaramdera, Golmuri, Tuiladungri, and others. Agrawal mentioned that water supply was provided in these areas at either 3 AM or 4 AM, lasting for just two hours. He contended that if water supply was provided for such a short duration, the timing then should be rescheduled to two hours between 6 am and 8 am. Agrawal expressed concern that providing water in the cold early morning hours was causing inconvenience to the citizens. People, he mentioned, were compelled to wake up early in the cold to fill water or operate motors, especially affecting senior citizens living alone. Agrawal painted a vivid picture of the challenges faced by these elderly individuals in the freezing mornings.
He pointed out that adjustments in timing were frequently made during the summer season. Therefore, Agrawal urged immediate changes to the morning water supply schedule, considering the wellbeing of the lease area residents. He also called for prompt communication of such modifications through public announcement system or newspaper notifications.
Sanjeev Jha, the Head of Tata Steel UISL Water Department, has also been notified of this request.
