Jamshedpur, July 7: Tata Steel Utilities and Infrastructure Services Limited (TSUISL) celebrated Van Mahotsav by planting saplings as part of its commitment to environmental sustainability. This plantation drive is a crucial component of TSUISL’s comprehensive environmental sustainability initiatives, aimed at reducing carbon emissions, conserving natural resources, and safeguarding biodiversity. During the event, Chankaya Chaudhary, Vice President of Corporate Services at Tata Steel, and Ritu Raj Sinha, Managing Director of Tata Steel UISL, planted numerous trees.

Several other dignitaries, including Raghunath Pandey, President, Jusco Shramik Union, Capt. Dhananjay Mishra, Senior General Manager at TSUISL, and senior leadership team of TSUISL, also actively participated in the drive.
It is worth noting that Van Mahotsav is an annual tree-planting festival celebrated in India during the month of July. The festival was first initiated in 1950 by the then Union Minister for Agriculture, Kulapati Dr. K. M. Munshi. The primary objective of the festival is to enhance the country’s green cover and raise awareness about the significance of trees and forests in maintaining a healthy ecosystem.
