Jamshedpur, April 19: Tata Steel UISL (formerly JUSCO) has appealed to its power consumers not respond and fall prey to fake messages that are being sent to many of them. A tata Steel UISL official stated, “Fake messages have been received by many of our consumers with the threat of electricity disconnection due to non-payment of electricity bills. Tata Steel UISL does not send such messages to consumers from any private mobile number regarding any electricity or water disconnections or any other matter.”
Such messages were being sent to many consumers from some private mobile number and threatening power disconnections which the providers never resorted to. The Tata Steel UISL have refused resorting to such means and dubbed the whole ploy as false. The official further stated, “The Company never requests any of its customers to call on any private mobile number or download / register any mobile app to transfer money. Tata Steel UISL sends messages only through a system using ‘JUSCO/ Tata Steel UISL’ as sender ID, on the consumer’s registered mobile number and with their unique identification no (Business partner no). “
The Company has appealed to its power and water consumers not to respond or click on any link received from any private number claiming it to be from JUSCO/Tata Steel UISL. Our only authentic mobile app is “zimmedaar nagrik”. The Company has also asked its customers to contact on customer care number 6646000, for any clarification.
