Jamshedpur: The Public Health Department of Tata Steel UISL organised a cancer awareness campaign along with a medical health check-up camp for sanitation workers on the occasion of World Cancer Day.
The initiative was conducted across multiple locations in Jamshedpur, including Ramdas Bhatta Depot, Sakchi Thana, Jubilee Park, and Jubilee Park Chowk. The medical camp was held at Ramdas Bhatta Depot.
The campaign aimed to promote awareness on cancer prevention, early detection, and timely medical intervention, with a special focus on safeguarding the health and well-being of sanitation workers who play a vital role in maintaining the city’s cleanliness.
As part of the initiative, over 100 sanitation workers underwent medical screening at the health camp. Additionally, awareness programmes conducted at public locations engaged more than 400 citizens, sensitising them to the importance of health, hygiene, and regular medical check-ups.
The initiative underscores Tata Steel UISL’s continued commitment to community health and social responsibility, reinforcing the message that while cleanliness is essential, the health of sanitation workers is equally important.
