Tata Steel training centres cadets excel in tournaments

Jamshedpur Oct. 6:  Cadets from the Tata Steel Sports Training Centres performed well in different tournaments held recently.  The sporting disciplines included Archery, Swimming, Basketball and Golf.

At the CBSE Zonal Archery Tournament held on September 28 � 30, 2019 at Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, cadets from ISWP Archery Training Centre won 8 medals including one gold, 5 silver and two bronze medals.

Similarly, at the 65th SGFI (School Games Federation of India) State Archery Championship held on September 27 – 30, 2019 at Chaibasa, the cadets of ISWP Archery Training Centre excelled and won 3 medals including one gold, one silver and one bronze.  

In the swimming discipline, Utkarsh Singh, trainee of the Tata Steel Swimming Training Centre, won 4 gold medals in the CBSE Zonal Swimming Championship held at DAV Public School Bariyatu  Ranchi on September 29. He was trained by Swimming Training Centre coach PN Rai.

With regard to Basketball, Jaskirath Singh and Ronit Dokaniya of ISWP Basketball Training Centre, had represented Vidya Bharti Chinmaya Vidyalaya in the 3rd CBSE Cluster Basketball Tournament held at Vidya Bharti Chinmaya Vidyalaya from September 29 � October 2, 2019 and won the Championship in the U-19 Category.

They were trained by Archery coach Ravi Prasad.  

Finally, at the Milky Moo Jharkhand Challenge Indian Golf Union (IGU) Golf Tournament held on October 1-2, 2019 at the Golmuri Golf Course Veer Parikh was declared the winner in category E. Archit Ranjan Singh and Rakshit Ranjan Singh were declared the runners-up.

The cadets were coached by Golf Coach Kalam. The Tata Steel Sports Dept has congratulated the cadets on their excellent performance.
