Tata Steel to recruit more transgenders

Jamshedpur, Jan 25: Tata Steel has announced recruitment drive for transgender individuals. This bold initiative marks a significant step forward, emphasizing the company’s commitment to inclusivity.

Under this pioneering experiment, Tata Steel is reinstating transgenders, a move that hasn’t been undertaken before. To be eligible, transgender applicants must have completed Matriculation English, ITI, Graduation, Diploma Engineering, or BE/B.Tech. The application is open for individuals born between January 1, 1984, and January 1, 2006.

In addition to academic qualifications, selected candidates will undergo comprehensive training for one year. The selection process includes a written examination, interview, and medical examination. Background verification will also be conducted, and applicants are required to submit a transgender certificate. Successful candidates will be placed either in Tata Steel or affiliated companies.
