Jamshedpur: The Tinplate Division of Tata Steel Limited has invited applications from eligible candidates for its one-year Apprenticeship Training Program (2026) under the Apprenticeship Act, 1961. This opportunity is primarily directed toward the youth of Jharkhand, aimed at enhancing technical skills in the manufacturing sector.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates holding a Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Metallurgical, Fire & Safety, or Chemical Engineering are eligible to apply. Notably, the management has stated that B.E. or B.Tech graduates will be given priority in the selection process. Non-engineering graduates are also eligible to apply.
Note: Candidates who have already completed an apprenticeship program at any other organization are not eligible.
Age and Residency Requirements
- Age Limit: Applicants must be born between March 1, 2001, and March 1, 2008 (approximately 18 to 25 years of age).
- Residency: Candidates must be permanent or local residents of Jharkhand for at least the last one year.
- Essential Documents: A PAN card linked to Aadhaar and an Aadhaar-seeded bank account are mandatory.
Selection Process and Stipend
The selection will be conducted in three phases:
- Online Written Test: Initial screening of candidates.
- Interview & Document Verification: For those who clear the written exam.
- Medical Examination: Final health assessment.
Selected candidates will undergo one year of “On-the-Job Training.” A monthly stipend will be provided as per the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) guidelines.
Important Terms & Conditions
The company has clarified that this is strictly a training program. Completion of the apprenticeship does not guarantee permanent employment, and no claims for a job will be entertained. Furthermore, Tata Steel will not provide hostel or canteen facilities; candidates must arrange their own accommodation and meals.
