Jamshedpur: Buoyed by touching the lives of 6 million people in 2025, Tata Steel has now set a target to improve the lives of 10 million people by 2030. D B Sundara Ramam, vice president, corporate services, Tata Steel, while sharing the company’s plans for the New Year and achievements of 2025, said that the company is dedicated to improving the living standards of people located across its operational areas.
Known for its CSR practices, the company, along with Tata Steel Foundation (TSF), is aiming to reach as many people as possible.

Addressing the New Year cake cutting at Centre for Excellence, the vice president said: “I am happy to share that during the year 2025 we touched the lives of 6 million people, and we have now set a target to improve the lives of 10 million people by 2030.”
He went on to add that the company has also set a new milestone in terms of employee volunteerism. In the last nine months, Tata Steel achieved 4.5 per capita volunteering hours (PCVH) while the target for the Tata Group for 12 months was 4.4 per capita volunteering hours (PCVH). The company has now set a target to achieve 6-7 hours per capita volunteering hours (PCVH). The company’s employees are dedicated to a better tomorrow.
Ramam stated that the company is implementing its CSR initiatives through a collaborative funding model, where resources are pooled from other companies that are keen to extend their outreach to the grassroots level. He emphasized that this collective approach has strengthened the scale and effectiveness of community-focused interventions. He also informed that Tata Steel Foundation (TSF) was among the first organizations to respond to the floods in Punjab, extending timely relief and support to the affected communities during the crisis.
