Tata Steel organises road safety programme at Noamundi

Noamundi, Aug. 11: Tata Steel organized a ‘Road safety’ aware program in collaboration with SAFE (Safety Awareness For Everyone) Club of Tata DAV School at Noamundi today.

The main objective of the programme was to sensitize and educate pedestrians and vehicle drivers about the safety measures to be followed while driving, especially during rainy season in the township.

On the occasion, a rally was organised from Tata DAV School to GT Hostel at Noamundi township. About 100 people participated in the event including school children and residents of the Noamundi township.

The rally emphasized on the fundamental traffic rules and highlighted the basic precautions a commuter must take while on the move.

The event witnessed participation from Mr Debashish Jena, Chief, Noamundi; Mr Avinesh Kumar, Head, Operations; Mr Jai Narendrapratap Singh, Sr Manager, Safety; Mr T K Misra, Principal, Tata DAV School along with Noamundi security personnel.

Speaking on the occasion, Pankaj Kumar Satija, GM (OMQ), Tata Steel said: “We want a safer world for everyone. Defensive-driving practices can help keep children and adults safe.

Safety is of utmost importance to Tata Steel. We should be committed to our safety and safety of our family. I am happy to see the enthusiasm of all those gathered here to support the cause.”

It may be noted that SAFE Club along with Tata Steel has been working to create awareness on traffic rules to control accidents.

It has organised several events like rallies, workshop and seminars on road safety. Various SAFE Clubs are active in schools.
