Tata Steel organises exposure visit of PRI members to Gopalpur

West Bokaro, March 27: With an objective to create awareness among Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI) members regarding various job linked skill development programmes and its functioning, Tata Steel West Bokaro Division is organising a three-day exposure visit of more than 20 PRI members to Gopalpur of Ganjam district, Odisha.

The tour was flagged off today by Gopalnath Jha, Head, R&R, Tata Steel (West Bokaro) along with Mr Rajesh Kumar, Head, Project Infrastructure & Utilities, Tata Steel (West Bokaro) in the presence of Mr Kumar Vikram, Sr. Manager, Land Procurement, Tata Steel (West Bokaro) from Tata Steel Rural Development Society (TSRDS) office at West Bokaro.

During the three-day exposure trip, the 20-member team including Mukhias, Panchayat Samiti Sadasyas of 14 panchayats of Mandu block, Ramgarh district will visit various skill development programmes started by TSRDS unit of Gopalpur in association with Government of Odisha. During this exposure visit, the participants will visit a tailoring unit by Shahi Exports Pvt. Ltd which provides training to underprivileged girls from in and around Gopalpur, on Sewing Machine for developing tailoring professionals. After successful completion of the training, the trainees are inducted in Shahi Exports Pvt. Ltd as employees.

The participants will also visit ‘PACE Skill Training Centre’ run by renowned national level NGO – Pratham Education Foundation. The skill development centre offers residential courses on “Food Production” and “Food & Beverages Services” under hospitality skill development at Sheragada block in Ganjam district of Odisha. After successful completion of the course, students will get opportunity to work in good hotels and resorts.

Arun Agrawal, Executive (Skill), TSRDS and Ms Saroj Ekka, Supervisor (TSRDS) are accompanying the PRI members for the exposure visit.
