Tata Steel karate trainees win 5 medals

Jamshedpur: Three Trainees from Tata Steel Sports Department�s Karate Training Centre won five medals (One Gold, Two Silver & Two Bronze) in the 1st South Asia Invitational Karate Championship held on April 1-2, 2019 at Kathmandu, Nepal.

The Indian team won the Runner�s Up Trophy. The trainees from the Tata Steel Karate Training Centre included Aakansha Singh, Vishal Yadav and Karnisha Das while L Nageshwar Rao took lead as Coach for the Indian Team. 

Other participating countries in the Meet included Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Pakistan.

Aakansha Singh won the second place in kata and kumite event. Vishal Yadav bagged the third place in kumite senior 60 kg category. Karnisha Das won the first and third place in kata and kumite event respectively. L Nageshwar Rao (Tata Steel) coach of the Indian team accompanied the players. .
