Jamshedpur, June 13: Tata Steel has decided to take strict measures in ensuring equality, diversity and inclusiveness across all its locations. The Tata Steel management will take strict action under the Company’s POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment at Workplace) policy after any complaint of discrimination, exploitation and any other kind of harassment was proved against any employee working in the Company.
Tata Steel MD, TV Narendran, in a circular, stated that after receiving any complaint of exploitation and harassment inside the Company, a domestic inquiry would be set up and strict action would be taken against the personnel found guilty in the investigation. An internal committee has been formed to ensure prompt action against any erring employee.
Women, transgenders and differently abled persons were also being included in the Tata Steel manpower strength. The internal committee would also look into complaints of discrimination against AIDS patients and if found true, individual or persons would attract strict action. According to information, Tata Steel aims to include 25 percent women’s participation in its manpower strength by 2025.
