Jamshedpur, October 9: Tata Steel today organised a workshop on Biodiversity for the senior leaders in the organisation. Over 60 senior officials of Tata Steel participated in this workshop. The workshop was conducted by members of The Biodiversity Consultancy (TBC).
One of the workshop’s key objectives was to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of biodiversity and its relevance to the global business landscape. The workshop also delved into the future expectations from businesses with regards to biodiversity risk management. Participants gained valuable insights into effective biodiversity risk management practices, underscoring the importance of integrating best practises in the organisation.
Rajiv Mangal, Vice President, Safety, Health & Sustainability, Tata Steel while addressing the audience placed particular emphasis on the significance of Natural-Based Solutions (NBS), the Materiality exercise, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and also emphasized the company’s unwavering commitment to responsible and sustainable growth.
The workshop addressed the gravity of nature-positivity and net-zero environmental impact. Attendees were able to identify the company’s current position and outline key actions necessary to continue progressing towards these goals.
