Jamshedpur, March 24: Tata Steel organised a formal closing function of 34th National Road safety Month Campaign (January 16-February 15) at Steelennium Hall inside Jamshedpur Works on Thursday.
The 34th National Road safety Month is being observed under the guidance of the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Government of India every year. The National Safety Council supplements the Government’s initiative by promoting Road Safety Campaigns across the country.

Rajiv Mangal, Vice President Safety Health & Sustainability (Designate) in his address highlighted the importance of reminding ourselves about Road Safety. He praised the efforts in creating model parking zones for heavy vehicles across locations and stressed upon learning from mistakes. He congratulated all the winners and participants besides thanking Union for its continuous support in such important initiatives. He wished there is continuous conversation going on safety and improving safety performances.
Neeraj Kumar Sinha, Chief Safety, Tata Steel gave the welcome address and set context for the occasion. He updated and explained the programmes and initiatives taken up and implemented during the campaign, besides stating the importance of touching external stakeholders and community at large. A series of professional speeches named “SAFE TALK- by Industry Experts” has been organised to enhance Road Safety Awareness.

Shailesh Kumar Singh, Deputy President, Tata Workers’ Union, in his address appreciated the safety initiatives and wider participation from all locations. He stressed on the need for enhancing Safety awareness among all workers so as to keep oneself and co-workers safe.
Earlier, a Nukkad Natak by safety team was performed highlighting the casual behaviour of employees and citizens as against established Road Safety rules and injury consequences. Prize winners comprising employees, vendor partners from across operating locations were awarded under various categories.
