Tata Steel Pays Homage to Founder Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata

Jamshedpur: Tata Steel paid rich tributes to its Founder, Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata, on Tuesday, marking his 187th birth anniversary. The day was commemorated with solemn ceremonies and the iconic traditional march past at the Works Main Gate within the Tata Steel premises.

A Morning of Tradition and Pride

The celebrations began at 7:30 AM with an impressive march past featuring contingents from various Tata Steel departments. A large gathering of senior officials, employees, and local dignitaries joined together to honor the man whose vision laid the foundation for both India’s steel industry and the city of Jamshedpur.

Leadership Pays Floral Tributes

The heart of the ceremony took place at the Founder’s Statue near the Works Main Gate, where floral tributes were offered. The event saw the presence of top leadership from the Tata Group, including:

  • N. Chandrasekaran: Chairman, Tata Sons
  • Noel Tata: Chairman, Tata Trusts
  • T. V. Narendran: CEO and Managing Director, Tata Steel
  • Vice Presidents and other senior company executives.

Following the main event, the leadership also visited Postal Park in Bistupur to pay further respects.
