Jamshedpur, Sept 15: Tata Steel Foundation (TSF) organized a classical music night- Swaragini today at Motilal Nehru Public School Auditorium in collaboration with Kala Udyan, Jamshedpur.
The event was aimed to promote and preserve art and culture among the youths of Jamshedpur. TSF has been running varied classical dance and music classes across their 12 Community Centres for several years.
To ensure exposure to professionalism for the emerging classical vocal aspirants in and around the city, acclaimed artist Sohini Ghosh from Kolkata gave her charismatic performance accompanied by Nayan Kumar Ghosh (Tabla), Manmohan Singh (Harmonium) and Manish Das (Tanpura).
To showcase the learnings of the students taking classes in our Community Centres, a group of 49 children gave a mesmerizing performance and exhibited their talent.
Pradeep Kumar, registrar and Gopal Prasad, sub-registrar from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad also witnessed the upcoming talent of Jamshedpur for possible collaboration with TSF while praising the initiatives taken in the field of Art, Culture & Music
Sumita Nupur graced the occasion as Chief Guest and felicitated artists and performers.
She praised the performers and eulogized the team of TSF for fostering growth and igniting the captive spirit of these young performers.
The programme was organised under the leadership of Manju Mishra and Keshav Kumar Ranjan from TSF. The event was supported by Area Officers, Deepa Paul and staffs of Jamshedpur Unit, TSF.
