Tata Steel Foundation organises assistive device distribution programme

Jamshedpur, Jan 24: Tata Steel Foundation, in collaboration with Bhagwan Mahaveer Vikalang Kalyan Sahayata, New Delhi, under the Sabal Project, is organising a two-day (on January 24 & 25, 2024) assistive device distribution programme at Malkera Community Centre, Baghmara Block, Dhanbad District. The programme was inaugurated today by Sanjeev Thakur, Head (Sijua Colliery), and Sujit Kumar Jha, Senior Area Manager (Security), Tata Steel Jharia Division.

 

Others present on the occasion were Bipin Singh Choudhary, Manager (Community Development), Tata Steel Foundation, Sijua; SM Trigunite, Coordination Committee Member; Vinod Rajak, Mukhiya (Malkera South Panchayat); Anjana Devi, Mukhiya (Malkera North Panchayat); Laxmi Kumari from Sabal; and members from Bhagwan Mahaveer Vikalang Kalyan Sahayata, New Delhi.

Tata Steel Foundation’s Jamadoba unit, under its Sabal Project, is dedicated to serving Baghmara Block, and reaching 20 panchayats by identifying Persons with Disabilities (PWDs). During this programme, a total of 50 assistive devices were provided to PWDs on the first day, including Artificial Limbs (Hand and Foot), Calipers, Axillary Crutches (Pair), Elbow Crutches (Pair), Wheelchairs for Adults, CP Wheelchairs for Adults & Children, Wheelchairs for Children, Blind Sticks, and Shoes with Compensation.
