Tata Steel employee’s wife commits suicide at Vijaya Garden in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Jan 29: A married woman allegedly died by committing suicide in the Sidhgora police station area of Jamshedpur triggering unrest among her family members.
The deceased has been identified as Priyanka Kumari, a resident of Vijay Garden in Baridih, who reportedly hanged herself at her residence.
On receiving information, Sidhgora police reached the spot, recovered the body, and sent it for post-mortem examination.
Necessary evidence was also collected from the spot.
Following the incident, the victim’s family staged a protest at the Sidhgora police station, accusing Priyanka’s brother-in-law, Aman, of mentally harassing her, which allegedly drove her to take the extreme step.
The family claimed that Aman, who resides in Australia, had returned to India just two days ago and had been troubling her.
Priyanka is survived by her husband Prashant Kumar, an employee of Tata Steel, whom she married in 2017, and two young children. The incident has cast a pall of gloom over the locality.
Police officials stated that the matter is being investigated from all angles based on the allegations, and further action will be taken after the post-mortem report is received.
