Jamshedpur, March 5: Pradip Mandal, contract worker who was burnt in a fire mishap at Tata Steel’s CRM plant on 24th February last, died during treatment at Tata Main Hospital on Sunday. A company spokesperson said Pradip died around 3.30 am.
Sources said Pradip had sustained 50 per cent burns in the mishap. On 24th February, he was working in the CRM Utility Incinerator under a contract company along with other workers of Gas Observation and Processing Service. Just then, a spark led to fire and took Pradip in its spate. His colleague Rakesh tried to douse the fire, but was burnt. The victims were taken to the hospital soon after the control room received the information. Rakesh was discharged the same day.
