Jamshedpur, March 31: Tata Steel has commenced the production of Tata Ferroshots at its Kalinganagar Steel Plant.
The product has been commercially launched in India for the first time, and is expected to be a game changer in the metallic industry.
According to a press communiqu� issued by the company on Thursday, Tata Ferroshots is basically, granulated pig iron or iron droplets, solidified by cooling in water.
The end use of Tata Ferroshots is in electric arc furnaces, induction furnaces, cupolas, basic oxygen furnaces and foundries as a replacement of pig iron, scrap or DRI.
Its inherent properties lead to better yield, higher productivity and lower energy cost. The process of manufacturing is environment-friendly and safe.
The first despatch of Tata Ferroshots was flagged off by Rajiv Kumar, vice-president, Kalinganagar Operations, Tata Steel.
