Jamshedpur, April 19: Tata Steel bagged the Prime Minister�s trophy for Best Performing Integrated Steel Plant for the year 2013-14, the Steel Minister�s Trophy for the year 2012-13 and a Certificate of Excellence 2011-12 for being the �Best Performing Integrated Steel Plant� in the country, at a ceremony held in Mumbai on Wednesday.
In recognition of its excellent performance, the trophies were received by T V Narendran, Tata Steel MD, India and South East Asia and R Rabi Prasad, President, Tata Worker�s Union from Minister of Steel, Chaudhary Birender Singh. Since the inception of the PM�s Trophy Award in 1992-93, this is Tata Steel�s tenth recognition as the best integrated steel plant in the country.
The PM�s trophy recognizes integrated steel companies that have an outstanding performance in the vital sector of the national economy, which draws heavily on national resources of capital and skilled manpower.

The company underwent three rounds of rigorous assessment conducted by a panel of distinguished judges. The panel highly appreciated the enthusiasm and involvement of the employees, reaffirming Tata Steel�s core strength of skilled and motivated workforce that has a �will to excel�.
The award was bestowed for its performance in various areas such as volume growth, operational efficiencies, R&D, sustainability, quality & branding of steel, customer satisfaction, and human resource development etc.
